One of the most significant dates in the ETC calendar, this is when we come together as a club to remember Becky Scott. A few words from Becky’s mum, Sue:
“Becky was an active member of Exeter Tri club. She took part in and helped at all the events. She did everything with a smile on her face and was never frightened just to have a go at anything.
Sadly, Becky lost her life in a cycling accident, aged just 24. At that time she and her family were training for the Lochaber 100. This is a century bike ride starting and finishing in Fort William, Scotland. Becky had chosen this event in her usual way. Although it was a challenge it wasn’t a particularly competitive race – just the pleasure of taking part in a beautiful place.
Becky’s Bike Ride is our opportunity to remember her and the legacy she left the club.”
There will be two separate rides, with both groups meeting up at midday back at Bar Venezia (Exeter Quay).
The faster/longer group will meet at Exeter Quay at 8.45 for a 9am departure with the slower/shorter ride meeting at 9.15 leaving the quay at 9.30. On both rides there will be a coffee and cake stop courtesy of the Tri Club, at the half way point.
We are in need of a few people who are happy to lead each of the rides so please let Juliette know if you are able to help out.
